Darton Garden Designs is managed by Cath Darton who lives with her family in Portsmouth and runs the business from the family home. Cath has a degree in languages and many years' experience in Project Management, Facilities and Procurement. Finally working with special needs children in schools, Cath finally decided to retrain as a Garden Designer and Horticulturalist.
Cath has an RHS Level 3 in Practical Horticulture and a Certificate in Garden Design (awarded Distinction) from the renowned English Gardening School based at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London. The School is run by Rosemary Alexander, author of many garden design books and judge on the Chelsea Flower Show. Cath has been lucky enough to spend time working in Rosemary's own garden near Petersfield which is open to the public.
It has been estimated that an attractive garden can increase a property's value by around 3% or more. Improving the garden can therefore not only improve your lifestyle and wellbeing, but also increase the saleability of your property.
Cath can provide inspiration and ideas for any garden transformation. Work can be carried out either by a team provided by Darton Garden Designs, or by contractors hired by the owner. In this instance the project can still be managed by Darton Garden Designs if required.
Design: Cath enjoys using wildlife friendly plants and prefers to garden organically wherever possible. The character of the garden should suit the character and requirements of the owner as well as the garden's surroundings.
